University of Manitoba Summer Explore 2009 blog workshop july 29 Ideas to Discuss

. Who have you met in winnipeg? New friends? International students?

Yes. I have many new friends in winnipeg .

.

PEOPLE OF WINNIPEG

I did not meet many people of winnipeg because I live in a residence. But the staff here are nice so it is verry funny to have many activities with them. When we were a the beach we met some guy and they were nice . chowww xoxo

Assiniboine Park Zoo

On Sunday, I'll going to the Assiniboine Park Zoo!!!!! I'm excited about this activity because I really love animals.. any kind of animals! So when I saw that we were going at the zoo, I was pretty happy!! :D But I hope it's not going to rain cats and dogs.. because first, it will not be so funny under the rain with our rain coat.. and secondly.. maybe some animals will be hiden!

Even if it's kind of the same thing in every zoo, I appreciate to go there with friends. Did I say that I love animals?? ahah!

At my house, I have 6 cats and my sister has two rats!!! Two years ago, we had a ferret!!!

Winnipeg people.

Since I'm here, I met some people from Winnipeg. First of all, I met my roomate from Japan. Her name is Mizoury and she's here since ten months. She come back in Japan at the end of August. She was studying here in Winnipeg for obtain her diploma. In like two weeks, I will met an other girl of Japan. Her name is Yukuri and she'll stay for two months in Manitoba.

Moreover, when I went to my friend's homestay and I met her hostfamily. I talked with their hostbrother and sister. They were kind and proposed to show us the city.

Finally, when we did the activities with the program, we met guys from here. Friday night we went to a football game and we met five guys. Then, we went to the beach and we talked to some boys who were doing skim boards. They show us how to do this sport and after we talked a little bit. We will probably see each other again because they were really kind

For the rest of the week...

Saturday, I am going to go at Folklorama! It will be very funny! Some of peaple told me than it is very beautiful at this place. And also, some peaple (who live here) told me they are very very much food, but in the culture different. For the next day, We are going to go at Assiniboine Park Zoo. I like so much go in Zoo! I hope animals will not be tired, because I want to see them move! :D At my house, we have 4 cats, 1 dog, 2 birds, 1 hamster and too many cows!! It is like a Zoo, but not a real!

friends and fun

Hi everyone!
you know, event if Winnipeg is not the most exitingin the world, there is a lot of interresting things to do! On my second day, I have met a lot of funny girls and since then, we are almost always together, even if we are not on the same levels. I also met a lot of people from overseas, for instance from China, from Japan, from Soudi Arabia, Korea, etc. With a bunch of friends, even the more boring place in the world can be very funny!!!!
So every time you travel, make sure you meet some friends!

: )

When I arrived at Winnipeg I was scared , because I came here and I didnt know nobody. But The first day I meet some friends and we are always together ! At my homestay family we are 2 of the explore program and we are also a Japanese student. It very exciting, because I can learn culture from a other contry , Japan. She talk me about the education, the food and the coutum that there are in Japan. So I can learn english and learn culture of other country in the same time its very cool!

University, activities..

I met a lot of people in Winnipeg I hope i'll still be in touch with them after Explore. The first day it was really hard for me because everybody was in residence and had already talk to each other but I was in family so I was really shy. After have participated to some activities, I met some great people and built good memories. I try to go to almost every activities to have fun, like Saturday to the Folklorama and I will go to the Forks on the afternoon, Sunday we are going to the Assiniboine Zoo, next week it is the Goldeneyes baseball game, etc. We are now at the middle of the trip and I hope everything will goes fast and I will have fun!

Grand Beach...

Last week, I go to the grand beach. When I see the start of the beach, I m so happy. The sand it s so white but when I go of the front of the beach the sand likes more dark. When I go where the vagueness start. I m feel dissapoited. There has insect in the water. It s so disgusting. But I take great time. Just relax. The sun it s good this day.

Friends

When I first arrived at Winnipeg, I only thought that I would improve my English. In fact, I've been doing more than that. Right after I took my luggage from the "roller coaster of the suitcase", I had a new friend. I was quite impressed. Only one workshop and you found new friends. People don't see a trip like I am doing that way. They think it's more like an obligation to speak English. You need to know that now if I would talk in French with my new friends, I would feel pretty strange. Friday there already people who's going home. You want to make friends from the IEP (Intensive English Program), but they live. You don't see the time past. You don't realize what you're doing. You just the let the time go. Unfortunately, the time past too fast in Winnipeg.

suporters don't make the game!

Last week, we went to see a bluebombers game. We were all painted in blue to support the team but they played so bad! But the experience to be all painted blue was nice! I think it's a typical comportement from Quebec because we always support our hockey team (Canadians of Montreal) but they always lose! :P

The great day in the beach

Sunday I went to the beach, I loved it. The beach is very beautiful, but the watter is a little cold. My brother and I spent the day in the watter with our friends.Add Image We played a lot.
In the end of the day, I didn't want to go.
I would be playing in the water. When it is time to eat, we get it with the animators.
It was very good. I want to came back to this beach

The Blue Bombers!

For the first time we went to watch a football game. It's so excite.
My children and I don't understand the game, but we scream a lot.
During the game there were many fight between the players.
Unfortunately, The Bombers lost to The Argounauts. The score was 5 to 19.
We enjoyed very much this new experience.

Grand Beach

seriously i was choked , yesterday by grand beach, i can't stand it, it was too dirty specially for children, i can t imagine how people swim in, they have to see other beach and after they constate the same thing.

Blue Bombers

Last Friday night, we went to Blue Bombers football game. They were playing against the Arganuts of Toronto. The preparation before we went was really funny. Everyone in residence had colored their face and was excited about this game. People from the program were all crazy and excited about this event. Blue Bomber lost against the Arganuts but it was a great evening. After the game, we came back to the University.
Even though the Winnipeg Blue Bombers shown us the worst game they ever played when we went to watch them, I had a great time. I was with my friend and she was not able to see the ball because she need glasses. Of course, she doesn't have any. " I can't see the ball, where is it? ", she was saying. Behind us, there was Lilibeth and Denise who come from Mexico and did not understand the game. When everybody else was cheering, they didn't. It was their first time. So, we told them: "When we scream, scream. When we cheer, cheer." The Winnipeg Blue Bombers may have lost, but we enjoyed the game.

BLUE BOMERS game

Friday night, we went to the Blue Bomers game. There were playing against the Argonauts. Many people painted their face with the color of the team ( Blue and Gold) or painted their body. When we got there we were so exiting . Few minutes after the games had start, we were all boring because it was not what we taught. The Blue Bomers's players sucked they lost like 3 to 19 .

The BEACH

Yesterday, we went at the Grand beach and it was very nice. We were four bus and there were all full. It took about 1hour and 30 minutes to get there but it worth it. The temperature were so nice it was sunny all the day. We meet some english personne and they learn us how to do skateboard. I hope I will return there before to live winnipeg .

beach

yesterday we went at the beach

so cool we has try skymboard this is a litle boar and you surf on the wather
very very very nice
after that we return at the university of manitoba with a long ride of bus
very sad.

Ballet in the Park

Ballet in the Park was wonderful. Was the first time I was watching a show Ballet. In Winnipeg, there are still mosquitoes. The show was outside, in a large Park. That day, the weather is good, the big and hot sun. There are much boys who dance. Ballet in the Park is near the Zoo. The show is a little bit long because its always the same. I like see dance Ballet, but I dont like the Classic music. During the show the boys whistling the dancers.
I like see the Ballet in the Park ! It s a good experience.

Tonight's movie; Slumdog millionaire

Slumdog Millionaire is about a penniless, eighteen year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai comes within one questiion of winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's; "Who wants to be a millionaire? A police investigation will reveals us his amazing story.
So...sounds good?
I've never saw it before so if you know if it's good or not, let a comment then I'll know too.

Go Bombers Go!

On friday night, I went at the Blue Bombers game! That was the first time that I go at a football game! the first and second period was really nice.. Everybody of our program was encouraging the blue bombers team.. the ambiance in the stadium was awesome!! but.. after the intermission.. the team was still losing and its began to be a little bit boring... According to me, this team was not really good.. even if they won like 18 times the Grey cup! yeah.. you read well.. 18 times.. but the last time was in 1990! On friday, they were playing against Toronto team and they lose 19-5...!

Even if I never watch football game on tv.. my favorite team is, of course, les Alouettes! because i'm coming from Montreal! :P but sincerely, I prefer watch a hockey game than a football game!! Go Habs go!

University of Manitoba

In June, I just finished High School in my town. So, I did not have study at a University or at a Cegep yet. The University is really big, I got lost very often in that huge campus! The difference between here and my High School is also that there's residence. I am living in an homestay family so I never ate at the cafeteria here. The best place to eat is for sure at the University Center, the Tim Hortons, because we have some in Quebec. I do not know about the worst place to eat but all the people in residence said that it's the cafeteria of St Johns College, that's really bad. The worse bathrooms are at the residence and also at the University Center, it's a little bit dirty. I do not use athletic facilities because I used to run at home and I think it's expensive 60$ for one month.

I really like this campus there's a lot of accomodations even if it's far from downtown!

Grand Beach

Grand Beach is a very nice place to go ! We had a great time, the weather was peeerfect. Many of us got sunburns, but I think we all enjoyed this sunny day. The sand was as white as in Cuba! I didn't know this could be possible in Canada... :)

Compare between UM and HEC in Montreal

The first time i saw UM, i was like surprise, because it s too big and it seems like a city, in compare with my university in Montreal (HEC), In Hec you found only one or two building, and between them you have to take a bus. but i think because Hec it 's only for business study
In hec it's a new building and with a new technologies too. here the campus or a residence when we are : Arthur mauro, it s too beautiful and so clean, there is gym room and other services, and if i want to compare with Hec , i can't do it, because, i never was there.

Sleeping At Tache Hall

It's great to reside at Tache Hall, because you can feel that the place is alive!! Even at night, you can hear people having fun together. It doesn't disturb me, but I eared some people say that they have trouble to sleep because of the constant noises. I know how to solve that problem. You just have to be noises-active. It's a new word. I invented it a few seconds ago. The title of my post is Sleeping At Tache Hall ... so I will finish it by a
Good Night!

Blue Loosers

When you go to a football game, you want to see a great game. Even if the game is not the game of the year, the game have to be attractive. But the game that I saw, was a really boring game ... I have never seen a game as boring as that ! Students of high school offer a better show than the Blue Bombers ( for their last game ). So, If you want to watch a great football game, go to the Montreal Allouettes !

Passing my days in Winnipeg

The University of Manitoba is different because it is a green place, there are a lot of trees and ways to walk and do exercise outside. I went to the Gym, because I love swimming but the facilities wasn't interesting to me, because you have to pay a pass- day and I am only interested in one or two hours. In contrast with my University is larger than mine, but in my University you can walk underground so during the winter you have more advantages than here.
I don't know if during the summer the schedule and services are different, there aren't many options to go eat, I only know Pembina Hall, in my opinion is a good place to eat...you can eat whatever you want, once, twice...it's up to you.
The last week I went to Ballet in the park, football game and Grand Beach...activities that definitely show you another point of view of the city
Universtiy of Manitoba are different of my school, with his old building. The best place, here, for eat is at Pembina! Because they are many choice to est something. I you dislike something, you can take others things! Thats good! This Week, we had went to see Ballet in the park. It was very beautiful. People who dance that would be very in form and in health. the only things than I dislike is the music... It is the only things. Yestarday we went to the Grand Beach! We had a sun with us all the Dayy!! That so nice! But I dont had put sun lotion and now I have sunstroke. the water was not clairly... but the sand was sooo soft! Usually, When I go to beach, it is at Virginia Beach. The Grand Beach is very smallest than the beach in Virginia.

Blue Bombers...

Last friday, we went to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers game and it was a little bit boring. I had never went to a football game before and this game dont encourage me to go at a other game of football. My favourite team is The Alouette so I more like to watch them because they are very better than the Blue bombers. At the half-time me and my friends went to get some food but the food and the beer there are very expensive! After the half-time, the team was loosing 3-10 so it was not very funny to cheering for a team who was loosing the match!

A great day in the Grand Beach

Sunday I went to the beach, I loved it.
The beach is very beautiful, but the watter was a little cold.
My brother and I spent the day in the watter with our friends.
We played a lot. In the end of the day, I didn't want to go. I would be playing in the water.
When was the time to lunch, we get it with the animators. It was very good.
I want came back to this beach.

A water fight for the children that we are!

Two teams, balloons full of water, water guns, swimming suit (or clothes transformed in swimming suits): a simple recipe for a funny water fight! A fight needs a winner, obviously! Who do you think it was, can you guess it? Of course, the winner was the team who was the most wet! My team didn't win, because we were dodging the balloons or catching them. At once, I wanted to kill Lukia by throwing my big balloon very hard on her, but the balloon bounced on her belly and broke itself on the ground! I was so close from her and I haven't been able to make her wet. You should have seen us, real children!

Grand Beach

Yesterday, we went to Grand Beach and it was really nice. We arrived at lunch and we enjoyed the sun until the end of the aftertoon. We had lunch on the beach, hots-dogs were pretty good because it was the only things that we ate during the day. We walked on the beach and we took some pictures. Some people were playing volleyball during we tried to do skim board. It was the first time that I tried. It was really amazing and I will probably retry one day. Some others guys tried too to do skim board, everybody enjoyed it. The skim boards were to the boys on the beach. They are from Winnipeg and they accept to teach us how to do. Grand Beach is a great place to meet people and do some skim board but I did went swimming. There is a lot of mosquitos and bugs into the water. It was a little bit discusting compare the others beaches that I went but it was one of my nice day in Winnipeg since I'm arrived.

Grand Beach

Wow, what a sandy shore! The water wasn't so cold. It was good to swim in it. But did you see the white whales? Laurie did. In fact, there was no white whales, but Laurie was tired and was screaming that as the name of a guy. To make her laugh, he was diving head forward and was shaking his legs in the air. Laurie couldn't stop laughing even though after a while it was not funny anymore. Maybe the fact she was tired helped her. Everything could make her laugh. She was always giggling. The guy, that I don't know the name, took off his t-shirt and she started to laugh for about five minutes. She was not able to stop. In fact, it was because she did not notice that he had a t-shirt. He was showing is t-shirt as a swimming suit and tried to made us think it was the bathing suit of another guy. At the end of the day, the word "giggling" had another meaning to me.

It is the first time than I come to Winnipeg. Some of my friends sayed me " Oh, at Winnipeg the weather is cold and there are nothing to do..!" " Days are long at Winnipeg!!" I am haste to say at my friendss! " hahaha!! The weather I had at Winnipeg was better than you had when I was there!" In Quebec it always rains. If one day it do not rain, the next day it will be. Here, it makes some days (like maybe 5) than we have a sun with so good temperature! But it is real than days are long at Winnipeg. It become to be dark at 10:00 pm... If I remember well, in my city, it become to be dark before 9h30 pm..!! What Winnipeg have than my city do not have, it is the politess of drivers! When you put one feet on the street, the car who come stop for let you pass. It is so Magical! And the only thing who are diffirent of my city or of Quebec, is... We do not find quebecer Poutine on the Campus! We have suggest at the cooker at St Johns to do one meal of quebecer Poutine! We hope he want to do it! :)
About winnipeg-Ideas to discuss
Is this your first visit to Winnipeg ?
Yes,I am.
What city do you live in ?Is winnipeg larger or smaller than your hometown?

Yamachiche

Hello fellows!
Have you ever heard about Yamachiche? I seriously doubt. This small village is situated exactly in the middle of the way from Montreal to Quebec. Yamachiche means "clay earth" in amerindian. Unlike Winnipeg, we have no busses and no shopping centre. Honestly, Winnipeg have nothing to envy to Yamachiche!

Mosquitos in winnipeg

For some who think that we have a lot of mosquitos in Quebec, bring your muskol if you want to visit the Manitoba! The mosquitos in Manitoba are starved! Even if we are at noon or at 2 am and you are outside, you'll be attacked by an entire colony!

About Winnipeg

I've never been in Winnipeg before this summer trip. Before I arrived here, I thought that Winnipeg was a pretty city. She's a little bit similar as Quebec City. Everythings is closed around and people are kind. This is a small city where everyone can enjoy calm and landscapes. Since I'm arrived here, temperature is great. Sometimes it's raining but we had much sunny days.

On the city tour, we went to the Fork's and it's giving a little idea to come back with some friends. Winnipeg is a beautiful city where I will enjoy living during four weeks. There is a lot of activities and things to see.

Winnipeg

I live in Mercier, a little town really near from Montreal, who is biggest than Winnipeg. It is not really my first time here because when I was young, I made a travel all around Canada so I saw the highlights of Manitoba, many years ago. Since I am here the wheater is really nice, sunny, but a little bit cold on nights. In Quebec, the wheater is really worst, it always rain and very cold. On the city tour we had last Tuesday, I really enjoy going at the Assiniboine Park and I am very excited about going some other time to relax, take picture of the landscape, etc. Winnipeg is a beautiful city that had a lot of activites to do and a lot of little cafe for young people like us. Here, there is also the Forks, something that is really great and that we do not have at Montreal. We have something that resemble; the Old Port of Montreal. I did not know that Winnipeg is the Slurpee Capital of the World and I just tasted those and my favourite flavor is the fruit one. Tomorrow, I am going to eat to the restaurant Earls because everyone say that it is the best place to eat here, we will see...
Winnipef is an interesting Capital we should all visit!

Winnipeg.

My first week at Winnipeg was very cool ! I had never went to Winnipeg before , so this city its very new for me! I like Winnipeg because This is a City very bigger than my city. In my city we are only like 4 000 people. Also, in my city we have almost nothing to do and here its very funny because we have alwyas something new to visit or to go. For the month of July the weather in Winnipeg is very better compare to my city. Since I am here the weather is always good and when I call my parents its always rain. So I am happy to be here with the nice weather! For me, the best place in Winnipeg its the forks because its very beautiful and you can do anything! The Shopping center here are not very good because we have more bigger shopping center in Quebec. Winnipeg is a beautiful city because there is a lot of thing to visit and you can learn more about the history of this city! I think i will come back with my family to show us How nice is this city !
This my first visit to Winnipeg,
Until now , i dont visite winnipeg yet, only st vital park and center,
but i can sade that will be small than montreal. I prefer this weather, because isn't runing all the time like in montreal

About Winnipeg

I've never been in Winnipeg before I had this "summer explore" opportunity.. and I never thought about visiting this city before this trip. But since my arrival in Winnipeg, I really appreciate all the places that I had the chance to visite. According to me, Winnipeg is a beautiful city, but not as much as Montreal.. of course!!
The weather in Winnipeg seems to be the same as in Montreal, in summer, but in winter, it's much more cold here than in Montreal. So, even if I love winter, I would not want to live in Winnipeg city.
While I was taking the public bus in Winnipeg, I noticed that there's one thing different here than in those public buses in Montreal.

L'Islet vs Winnipeg!

First of all, we must try to explain where is L'Islet. Take a map. Open the map. Find Canada. Look for Montreal and Rimouski. Now, look between those two cities and you will find, somewhere on the shore of St-Lawrence River, our small village that is called L'Islet. Once you know where it is located, I'm sure that you have noticed that it is really really really LOST. So, you have to know that this tiny winy town doesn't have any amenities. I mean, there is no bus, no mall center, no movie theater and only two restaurants and one snack bar. The name of the snack bar is ; Chez Therese. In this snack bar, you can eat the most flabbergasting poutine that you will never eat. This is our proud. So, on a ''poutine point'', L'Islet own Winnipeg. On the other hand, Winnipeg has all that L'Islet doesn't have. But you can also be happy in L'islet, because people are really nice. That's all for the comparison.
Xavier and Mathieu.

Winnipeg!

Did you know that Winnipeg is the Slurpee Capital of the World? This is what I have been told at my first day here! Do you know what it means? There's hundreds, thousands even millions or slurpee sold each year in Winnipeg! Wow! I mean there a price for this? I think people need to be proud of something... I am not saying that it's bad, not at all! I would be proud to live in the Slurpee Capital of the World, but I am wondering who invented this price... Do we have to post a patent? What would I have to do if I wanted to create the price of being the Tissue Buyers Capital of the World?

Anyway, I will help Winnipeg to be the Slurpee Capital of the World for next year really soon.

What will exit of a box where you put tiredness, a long day, two girls together and a wait for the bus late in the night? You know it. A lot of laughing! How boring can be a person walking in front of you transformed in the hardest thing to not laugh about? Well, when you are tired, but not enough to want to sleep on a bench. You should try one day, after an evening in a bar where you can't drink! It is quite interesting.

We never know who is around us...

I didn't know we had to pay attention to the words we were saying when my friends and I went to the movie theatre next to St-Vital's mall. Even if we try so hard to find the right word in english, even if we do gestures to show what we want to say, sometimes, unfortunately, we need french. However, the thing is that a lot of people here in Winnipeg can understand french and some people can even speak french, particularly the ones who live in a french community. So, bad french words might come out from our mouth and if it happens, someone can turn around and tell us: " Tu sais, je parle francais..." Oups... We never know who is around us, so we rather speak english than sticking our neck out for a french word!

Winnipoo

Today at my third blogging's class, they asked to talk about Winnipeg, but they aren't a lot of things to tell about it. Lucky that they gave us some questions to answer.

First question; Is this your first visit to WinnipegYes, it's my first time, and I presume that its the same thing for everyone (Nobody would think to be here when they are enrolled in Explore program). The few days I was here, everyone was saying "Damn, Winnipeg was my third one " and even "Winnipeg wasn't in my choice, what are we gonna do here?!?!?"....

the best teacher ever!

Hello fellows!

Do you know Janine? She is the best english teacher that I had up until now! She is really kind, funny an interesting. Two hours per day with her is not enough! Grammar will never look the same after attending her class... now, it is more like a great activity then a hard job that we want to postpone.

Honnestly, I don't have the words to explain how interresting grammar is with her. And if you don't believe me, you must attend one of her class.

St.-Vital Mall; what an amazing place!

This week-end, with some friends, I've discover the St.-Vital shopping centre and I really enjoy it 'cause I really like shopping and there is a lot of kind of shop's in here. This is why I'll go there again for sure. Nice place to "chill"...

My first week in Winnipeg

Hi everybody!

When I arrived in University of Manitoba, I found that University is very big and beautiful.
I went witch the others students do a turn in Winnipeg. I found Winnipeg beautiful, clean and big.
I'm very exited to go to de Zoo and to the beach with my mother and my brother.
In this week, I went to the store 7eleven to buy a Slurpee and I loved that. My favorite savour is Cola. I hope to try another savour of Slupee.

My first activitie in Winnipeg

Hi everybody!
When I arrived in University of Manitoba, I went witch the others students to do a turn in Winnipeg.
I was very exited because it's a big and beautiful city. We went to Forks, to downtown, near the zoo and we take a ice-cream in the English Garden.
The explorer programm offers many opportunities for us. The guide who stayed witch us gave many suggestions: where we cant to eat, to visit or just take a break. It's fun to stay here.

How is Winnipeg!

Before coming here, people told me to be careful because it's apparently one of the most dangerous city in Canada. Fortunately for us, the University of Manitoba is located far away from downtown, where it's more dangerous. However, to be isolated has also its disadvantages. It's weird, but what surpised me is that drivers are always nice with pedestrians, they stop to let us walk even if we normally can't cross the street. It's very different from Quebec, where they almost kill you to pass on the yellow light. Winnipeg is very 'prairies', it's green everywhere and so windy !

Famous Gym

You know what? There is a famous place on the campus!
Do you know that the East Gym in Tache Hall has been used
like a background in the American movie ; Shall We Dance?
Amazing but true! The room appears in the movie like a
Dance Hall. Watch the movie and you will see what i'm talking
about. I want to say thank you to Caroline Morin who is the
persone that make the link the first and also Karell who is the
owner of the movie.

Winnipeg

It is my first visit to Winnipeg. I live in Quebec city. Winnipeg is a beatiful city, but it is very flat. I like the weather in Winnipeg because there is a beatiful sun. But, the weather is very similar with Quebec. In city tour, my favorite place is the Forks. I like to walk the Downtown and I go the shopping at St-vital Centre with my friends. In my free time , I walk in the nice Park in Winnipeg.

This city is the capital and most populous city of Manitoba. Winnipeg there a no montain, but the lanscape is it fabulous.

Weather

Today we have a beautiful 25°C with 51% of humidity. We also have a south-west wind at 11km/h. So, the little 25°C feels like a 29°C !

Hello fellows!
The explore program is not just english lessons! We also have a lot of fun! This week, we had a dance party and a soccer tournament in only three days! Next week, we are going to see the Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet performing in the Assiniboine Park, and for free! In fact, all our activities are free except the Blue Bombers game on this Friday, but we only have to pay 15$! Not much to have the bus ride and the ticket! This weekend, we are also going to have a barbecue activitie on Saturday and we are heading to Grand Beach on Sunday. Don’t you think it is worthfull? With the classes, the homework (well, what do you think? After all, it is still school!) and all those activities, we don’t have time to get homesick! Moreover, if you take the time to make some friends, this month will past so fast that you will wish to stay longer instead of going back and begin C.E.G.E.P.!
So enjoy your trip and let’s have some fun!

My first week at WinniPeg.

Last Weekend, I just have so much fun! Saturday I have going with friends shopping at St-Vital. I have buy nothing, because when the sun are not here, it is cold outside and one girl miss one pants and one cotton wetter. At the night, we had an activity.. Dance Party! But, I juste had take 1 beer and half, because the club closed at midnight. During this night I had too much Fun! After the club, the majority of people went to the Mexicain Party. So I went in my bed at 2h00 am, but they are some people who went to sleep at 6h00 am!!

Sunday, I was wake up at 11h00 am. At 2h00 Pm I was in the Park and I just had relax with the beautiful sun! It is make some days with a hot sun and a good temperature! It is so different of Quebec! Yesterday was a relax day!

Soccer Tournament

What’s better than a sunny day for a soccer tournament?
Yesterday, we (IEP and Explore students) were divided into eight teams and played soccer all the afternoon. That was very fun, because we met new people and ate good snacks, which is very appreciated when you eat at St. John’s everyday. Many of us got sunburns, but it was nice to exercise, because we didn’t really have the opportunity to do it since we arrived on the campus.
Big Sky won the tournament, they defeat Mosquitoes 3-1 in the final.
I'm sure that everyone enjoyed this activity :)

our first activities in the summer Explore!!

For those who didn't know, there was a party organized by the explore program at the Wise guys located in the University College on Saturday night. It was a nice party, the majority of us was on the dance floor, the others was playing at the pool table or only take it easy with there friends! Unfortunately, according to me, the music wasn't so good. Of course, some good songs played but in general, the music wasn't inviting to dance. The party started at 9 o'clock and finished too early.. at midnight.

On Sunday, it's was the soccer's turnament!!! It was so fun and we had such a nice day! Instead of the sunburns, this kind of activity allows us to meet new people and to do something else than to go to school! :D

My first Week in Winnipeg

when I arrived to Winnipeg, I was very happy, because i was going to meet many friends, a new city and especially, because I was going to start learning English. The first day was wonderful, it was sunshine and hot .

We arrived in school bus at the university, they got ours rooms and we had all day to know the campus. The first week was very interesting, because we didn't knew the campus. Especially, I always lost and I never find my room. The buildings are very larges, where I live, we have 6 floors and 10 different entries. Almost all rooms are different, most people have to share the bathroom.

With respect to food, we have a good restaurant, we always have two options, plenty of fruit and many vegetables. but I don't like that there is always pasta in all its forms.... Lasagna, spaghetti, macarroni, etc.

The classrooms are spacious and it is another building. we do some many exercise, because the restaurant is next to ours rooms, but the salons of class is near to the library. We have two teachers, one teacher is for rules grammar and otther one is for pronunciation and vocabulary, all teachers are very kind and respectful.

Always we are really busy, because after school, we have so many activities, even the weekends, like going to see play the Blue Bombers. the barbecue or a going to the beach. Only, I hope that I have time to study my books and make the homework. Personally, I need some time to review the lessons of the class and especially tiem to memorize all the words that I don't know.
